
The Pumas knew they had a battle on their hands today facing a determined Moor Mead side eager to avenge their narrow 2-1 defeat in the last encounter. They knew they needed to be at their best, and they certainly delivered.
The match kicked off with high energy from both sides, as teams settled into the game. It wasn't long before the Pumas found their rhythm and the opening goal came from a defensive error by Moor Mead. A misplaced pass fell to Jacob's feet, who quickly laid it off to Miles. Miles, with showcasing impressive footwork, weaved between two defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top left corner. The Moor Mead goalkeeper had no chance, and the Pumas celebrating taking a 1-0 lead.
Pinewood initiated a fantastic build-up from a goal kick, with the ball finding its way from James to Samuel, then swiftly on to Tom. Tom then played a clever pass to Miles, who executed a quick switch of play, sending the ball wide to Isaac on the right wing. Isaac, demonstrating excellent vision, cut in and threaded a pass to Jacob. Jacob battled valiantly, driving into the box, but was ultimately brought down. Moor Mead cleared the ball for a Pinewood throw-in.
From the ensuing throw, William unleashed a shot towards goal, which was bravely blocked by a Moor Mead defender. As the ball seemed destined for a corner, the Moor Mead goalkeeper scrambled desperately, rolling to try and prevent it from going out of play. Pinewood maintained the pressure, and Miles delivered a pinpoint cross into the heart of the penalty area. Isaac perfectly positioned, tapped it in with precision. A brilliant team effort resulted in a goal. 2-0 to Pinewood!
Moor Mead demonstrated their attacking prowess, spreading the ball wide to the right wing, finding their most dangerous player. With impressive quick footwork, he skillfully knocked the ball pass Omar and accelerated down the sideline. Cutting sharply into the box, he unleashed a low shot that Nathan bravely saved and parried away. This served as a clear warning shot, reminding Pinewood that Moor Mead was still very much in the game.
Pinewood responded instantly with a display of slick one-touch football. William received the ball and quickly laid it off to Samuel on the left flank. Samuel then combined with Miles, who found Tom. Tom with exquisite timing, threaded a through ball for Jacob. Jacob raced onto it, and without breaking his stride, calmly flicked the ball past the Moor Mead goalkeeper into the top right corner of the net. A magnificent goal! Pinewood extending their lead 3-0.

Moor Mead, undeterred, launched another swift attack down the right flank. Their player skillfully navigated into the Pinewood box, twisting and turning under the pressure from Kingsley. Unfortunately, in his efforts to defend, Kingsley inadvertently clipped the attacker's ankle. The player went down, and the referee immediately points to the spot - PENALTY. Moor Mead calmly dispatched the ball into the back of the net, scoring a crucial goal. Can the Pumas recompose themselves and regain their momentum, or will this penalty spark a Moor Mead comeback? 3-1 Pinewood
Pinewood responded with a quick play from an awarded offside, as James swiftly passed the ball to Jacob on the right wing. Jacob displaying exceptional determination and acceleration, effortlessly outmaneuvered his Moor Mead defender. He carried the ball wide before whipping a dangerous cross into the box towards the far post. Jaiden was perfectly positioned to receive it, controlled it expertly and then unleashed a shot across the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The three-goal lead was restored, making it 4-1.
HALF TIME: 4-1 TO PINEWOOD
The second half began with Moor Mead on the front foot, launching a series of attacks that, despite their initial promise, ultimately lead to nothing. Pinewood's defense remained compact and proved difficult to break down. Shutting down every attempt.
Then a long ball from Jacob sent Shak and Jaiden racing forward, challenging two Moor Mead defenders. Shak, showing impressive speed, just managed to get to the ball first before being fouled by a Moor Mead defender. A yellow card was issued and a free kick was awarded just outside the Moor Mead box. The free kick saw Miles running onto the ball and finishing it off. However the celebrations were cut short as the flag went up - offside.
Moor Mead unleashed a flurry of attacks, all orginating from their right hand side. This sustained pressure resulted in a couple of potent shots towards Pinewood's goal, which were saved by Nathan.

Jameel displayed excellent defensive work, dispossessing the Moor Mead striker and immediately driving forward with the ball. With a precise cross field pass, he switched the play to the right, finding Jacob making a determined run. Jacob dashed into the box, skill fully cut the ball back to his left foot and took a shot towards the near post. However, the goalkeeper was well positioned and made a solid save, denying Pinewood of another goal.

Tom received the ball and quickly laid it off to Shak. Jacob, seeing an opportunity, called for a through ball, and Shak obliged with a perfectly weighted pass. Jacob latched onto it, driving into the box, but was immediately blocked off by two determined defenders. The loose ball, however, was quickly picked up by Shak, who drove towards the byline before kicking a powerful low shot towards the goal, which was saved by the goalkeeper again.

With just 10 minutes remaining, the game exploded with action. From a Moor Mead attack, James cleared the ball, but a fumble by a Moor Mead midfielder left the ball loose. Jacob ever alert, went in for a strong 50/50 challenge and the ball broke to Jaiden. Jacob already on the run, demanded the ball. Jaiden fed it through to Jacob who then delivered a precise cross, and Isaac, using his body expertly to keep the defender away, made a left footed shot that found the back of the net. Pinewood extended their lead to 5-1!
The goals kept coming for Pinewood. Jaiden latched onto a flick on from a Moor Mead player, surged down the wing, and delivered a low cross into the box. Isaac was there to complete his hat trick, tapping it in with ease. The score now stood at a commanding 6-1 to Pinewood.
Pinewood continued their relentless attack. From a throw in, the ball found Shak on the wing, who then passed to Isaac. Isaac took a shot which was met by a great save from the goalkeeper. Jacob pounced on the loose ball, turning back in, but a superb tackle from Moor Mead defender killed his efforts. Tom then gained possession, but a Moor Mead player swiped his feet just outside their box, resulting in a direct free kick. James stepped up, beating the two man wall with his strike. The goalkeeper made another save, but Shak was quickest to react, tapping in the rebound. Pinewood cemented their dominance with a 7-1 win!
FULL TIME: 7-1 TO PINEWOOD
This week showcased a truly great collective performance from the team. Considering the strength of the opposition, they made the victory look almost effortless. If they can replicate this level of performance next week, a Pinewood win seems inevitable
