Godalming Town responded with determination, earning several free kicks and corners, but Pinewood’s defence held firm, with Samuel hitting the post and Nathan making crucial saves.

The first half was marked by end-to-end action. Godalming Town pressed hard, forcing errors and creating confusion in the Pinewood defence, but Pinewood countered effectively. Notable moments included a lovely midfield ball from Samuel to Jacob, whose shot was saved, and a controversial moment when Jaiden was fouled in the box but no penalty was given. Substitutions began to shape the game, with Ajay, Miles, and Jaiden making way for fresh legs.

Godalming Town found their equalizer at the half-hour mark, leveling the score at 1-1. The rain briefly interrupted the match, but play resumed with Pinewood continuing to attack, while Godalming Town remained dangerous on the break. Both teams had chances before halftime, with Shak going down in midfield and James being fouled in the box, again, no penalty was awarded.

Both sides continued to search for a winner in the closing stages. Nathan made another excellent save to deny Godalming Town, while Pinewood created late chances through Jacob and Jaiden, but neither team could find the decisive breakthrough.

The second half saw more drama. Godalming Town pushed forward, but Pinewood’s Nathan was solid in goal, making several key saves. Omar received a yellow card after a clash, and the match remained finely balanced. Godalming Town took the lead in the 59th minute with a well-placed shot into the bottom corner, making it 2-1.

Pinewood refused to give up. Jacob was brought down in the box, earning a penalty, which he confidently converted to tie the game at 2-2. The closing minutes were frantic, with both sides creating chances, Samuel and Jacob combined for a dangerous cross, and Jaiden’s shot was saved by the Godalming Town goalkeeper. Despite several late attacks, neither team could find a winner.

The match ended in a hard-fought 2-2 draw, with both teams showing resilience and moments of quality throughout.
