Pinewood and Singh Sabha shared the points in an 2–2 draw in their league clash on Matchday 17.
With Singh Sabha getting promoted from division 2 and losing their first game 8-0 followed by a win against Windsor nobody really knew what to expect but with Pinewood winning their previous game 4-2 vs a quality Hanworth Villa side it looked on paper like a game come to soon for Singh Sabha.
Pinewood started the match strongly with a very early old fashion long ball over the top which Tené got on the end of and finished off lovely. Although Pinewood scored early it didn’t really settle any nerves and they lacked their usual rhythm to control the game. Singh Sabha grew into the game and created chance after chance but poor finishing kept the game at 1-0. Changes were made from Pinewood but even off the bench Pinewood was still camped in their own half.
The whistle blew for halftime with both sets of fans shocked by the scoreline for different reasons.
Singh Sabha couldn’t believe how they haven’t score while Pinewood was confused as to how they are playing so poor. A team with a very well drilled defence was all over the place with their passing out from the back. The midfield couldn’t buy a pass, the wingers wasn’t getting balls into the box and the strikers wasn’t testing their goalkeeper.
The second half was far more open with Singh Sabha started off how they finished the first half and got their reward with a scrappy equaliser. This woke up Pinewood and with some changes coming off the bench Pinewood looked better but still not their usual selves. With both teams pushing forward for a winner Pinewood got themselves back in front with a right place right time finish from Jaiden to make the score 2-1. With the clock ticking down you would of thought Pinewood would hold out for the victory and take the 3 points back to Bracknell but Singh Sabha had other ideas and with a mistake in the middle of the pitch by a Pinewood player, the ball was nicked off him too easy and a long range shot went over the keeper and in the back of the net. With disbelief from the Pinewood fans and excitement from the Singh Sabha fans the game came to an end.
The pitch was horrible but not to blame for the performance as both sets of players had to play on it. Singh Sabha showed great determination to fight back
In the end, it was a competitive contest with four goals being scored as both teams earned a point.
Pinewood would be very disappointed with the result and performance especially with other results on the day going their way while Singh Sabha would be proud of their point but shocked how they didn’t win.
