The Pumas arrived at The Oratory School under blustery skies and a soft, muddy pitch—conditions that promised a real test of balance and teamwork. Spirits were high as the boys warmed up, parents sharing a few laughs on the sidelines while the players focused on getting sharp touches in the wind.
*First Half*
Goring won the toss, giving Puma the favorable side with both the wind and slope on their side. Miles tested the Goring keeper early, followed by some composed defending that kept the Reds on the back foot.
In the 10th minute, Heath unleashed a strong shot, narrowly missing the target. But despite dominating possession, the Pumas were momentarily stunned when Goring scored against the run of play in the 14th minute.
That only sparked a stronger response. Isaac equalized almost immediately, setting the tone for what would become a commanding half. He followed up with two more goals—securing a well-earned hat-trick. Jaiden added his name to the scoresheet in the 32nd minute, and Jacob’s sharp finish in the 37th minute sealed a superb first half.
By halftime, the Pumas were cruising, full of confidence and control.
