Match Week 13 - U13 Pumas

Nancy Lee21 Dec 2025 - 15:06

A Compelling match between Pumas and EPC

Pumas lined up in their usual 3-1-4-2 formation ahead of the game commencing.
From the kick off Pumas came out the blocks quickly with a lovely sequence of passing between the CDM and the back line who managed to find Jacob on the wing. Some great pass and moving between Jacob, Tené and Jaiden past the EPC midfield bought some width to the attack with Pumas first threat just outside the oppositions box.

EPC started to fight back with a couple of well placed passes which saw James called into action however Pumas were still eager to win the ball and counter the threat applying their own pressure.A switch of play from the Pumas allowed for the first real chance of the game with Jacob driving down the right and shooting wide just passed the keeper.

EPC were quick to respond with their own first chance which saw James dive to keep the ball out of the net. It wasn’t long before James was called into action again with another great save with the ref awarding EPC the first corner fortunately it doesn’t come to anything for EPC to celebrate. The play continues to go from one box to the other with both keepers being kept on their toes.

The first half draws to an end goalless but Pumas have really let the opposition know they aren’t here out of luck, and are force not to be reckoned with!!

The second half begins as Pumas left off, strong and powerful with the majority of duels won all over the pitch. A quick succession of passes saw EPC score the first goal. Puma’s kept their cool and didn’t waiver showing their capabilities with some great build up play of their own.
The play continues with some brilliant battles taking place in all positions. The ref chooses to award EPC a free kick on the edge of the box which was taken and fortunately hit the side netting.

Pumas are showing real strength and determination not to let the game run away from them. A real togetherness can be witnessed from the sidelines.

A quick free kick into the Pumas box with James quickly off his line results in a penalty to EPC. Pumas aren’t fazed, James is composed as always and makes a heroic save. Miles quickly follows the ball in and gets it out danger, passing to Shak who lays it off to Jacob.

Jacob drives down the line into the box and finds himself taken out by an EPC defender, arguably a penalty which the ref deems a fair challenge!
The game continues to play out with both teams battling hard, Samuel and Tené link up down the left side with some lovely football played. Jaiden finds the ball at his feet again and drives into the box weaving in and out of players (great feet!) unfortunately his efforts came to nothing on this occasion.

A corner for EPC results in a second goal.

Pumas aren’t giving up until the final whistle and continue to showcase their abilities individually and as a team.

The final whistle is blown, 2-0 to EPC.

Pumas have cemented their worthiness of their placement in the table, a game they should all be proud of. It may have felt like a loss to the boys, as a parent on the sidelines it sure didn’t feel like that to me!
Well done Pumas, keep up the hard work!
