Both teams looked confident during their warm-up session and it was good chatting to opposition parents comparing notes on previous matches and teams.

First Half
Moor Mead captain won the toss and chose to kick off. Both teams showing lots of energetic play with an early Moor Mead attack. Pumas enjoying good possession with some great passing. Moor Mead free kick came to nothing due Jaiden’s block causing an early panic from Moor Mead defence when under pressure resulting in them kicking ball out.

Good Pumas throw in and passing gave a chance on goal and shortly afterwards Pumas had a shot into Moor Mead’s goalkeepers unsteady hands. The ball then came up into Pumas half with Nathan making a great save. Ball backwards and forwards with Pumas taking shots on goal. Some scrappy play in Moor Mead’s box lead to a break, Heath effectively stopped the attack. A little Pumas frustration caused a free kick from just outside the “D” but the Moor Mead's kick came to nothing with James clearing the ball and Pumas making an attack keeping Moor Mead’s goalie busy. Great running, decisions and comms with the Ref by Pumas Lino Nick keeping the game fair.

A highlight just before the half time whistle was Samuel’s Nutmeg on No.19.

Second Half
The second half started with a free kick for Miles resulting with a great attempt on goal but unfortunately the ball not finding its mark.

Penalty conceded for Moor Mead with Nathan making an incredible save, Well Done Nathan! Another free kick for James keeping pressure on Moor Mead with a collision giving a brief pause.

Moor Mead came back relentlessly with attack after attack but our defence blocked everything. Pumas still having lots of possession and attempts on goal. Again Nathan was called on to make a fantastic save. 3 Pumas subs made but a schoolboy error caused Moor Mead to score. The boys reacted well and kept their heads up. Unfortunately Nathan was injured during a save so James stepped in, kicking out to Isaac who made a lovely touch and a few passes later Jacob heads in a ball from Samuel, well done boys! Heath then had a great attempt on goal with the ball sailing just over the crossbar - what a shot! With James in goal, Tom stepped up in defence with amazing energy and determination. Pumas are starting to gain the upper hand but a break from Moor Mead resulted in a Yellow for Isaac who made a superb last ditch challenge. Moor Mead’s free kick failed to find goal and two minutes into extra time Jaiden scores a header from Jacob’s cross. With 2 minutes left the boys played fearlessly to achieve a well deserved 2:1 win.
