This was our 5th league game of the season so far and the undefeated Pumas have done it again. As we kicked off the first half Godalming were dominant within the first 4 minutes as they had 4 attempts on us but our defence held strong with goal keeper James making his first important save.
Pumas then started to take control of the game with a superb shot on goal from Heath at just 7 minutes in which was unfortunately saved by Godalming goalkeeper.
Approximately 10 mins into the game Miles took a corner delivering a superb ball into the box with Jacob M attempting a header which was cleared by Goldaming defenders only to be volleyed back towards the goal by Jacob J, with Goldaming's second warning that the Pumas meant business!!
18 minutes into the game Miles sends a through ball to Jacob M who takes on a few Godalming defenders managing to strike towards the goal
unfortunately being deflected by a Godalming defender but that didn't stop the Pumas continuing with a barrage of attacks coming from our midfield and strikers.
Coming up to 25 minutes James M makes another 2 saves as Goldaming responds to the continuous pressure being put on them by the Pumas with our defenders holding strong. As we begin to approach the end of the first half at 30 minutes Shak makes a superb attempt at the Goldaming goalkeeper unfortunately being saved only for James M to put a lovely ball to Tené who delivered a final warning shot.
Leaving us 0-0 at the end of the first half.
A few minutes into the second half a back pass to the Goldaming goal keeper which was not awarded to the Pumas did not deter the Pumas from powering on with Jacob J putting the Godalming goalkeeper under pressure again with some powerful strikes including a free kick.
Only at 56 minutes into the second half leaving us a man down when Kingsley was fouled only to be sent off but fortunately returned with
sheer determination to finish the job. Approaching 60 minutes a strategical change which saw Jameel brought back on as striker rather than his dominant position in defence saw him score an energetic goal minutes later which was deflected by a Jacob J strike saved by the keeper putting us in the lead with our first goal.
At 65 minutes Samuel is taken down in the box and awarded a penalty which he effortlessly drove into the back of the net calmly and composed. Pumas 2 - Goldaming 0.
As we approached the final minutes of the game a last minute dash by Goldaming saw Nathan excelerate with pace and determination delivering a great slide tackle eliminating further danger whilst entering the final minute of the game Issac is brought down by a Goldaming elbow to the back but pure determination see's Issac soldier on into the final whistle.
Pure team effort was awarded with a 2 nil victory.
