The She-Wolves travelled to Chalfont Park this morning for an early friendly, facing a physical and hard-fought opening half before finding their rhythm after the break.

Thea Parker put Pinewood ahead early, following up her first effort when the keeper couldn’t hold the shot and chasing down the loose ball to finish. Chalfont responded strongly, increasingly winning the race to the ball and putting the Wolves under pressure, but an ever reliable Wolves defence meant that Pinewood held their lead until half-time.

The second half saw the pack grow in confidence. Harriet Walker helped re-establish control in midfield, while Evie Floyd made a fantastic nuisance of herself up front, keeping the Chalfont defence busy.

Returning to the field ten minutes into the half, Rosie McAuley made an immediate impact. Driving through five Chalfont players across midfield and defence, she capped a superb individual run with a goal to double Pinewood’s lead.

With momentum firmly behind the Wolves, Thea quickly added her second to make it 3–0. Chalfont capitalised on a momentary lapse in concentration to pull one back, but Pinewood soon answered. Clever midfield play from Rosie and Cali Mansell created the opening for Thea to complete her hat-trick and seal a 4–1 win.

A hesitant opening half gave way to a dominant second-half display, with determination, teamwork and renewed confidence carrying the pack through.

Once the pack found its stride, there was no holding back.
